Pioneer in the Balearic Islands in the application of the Lasik technique and ICL intraocular lenses to correct refractive defects (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism) and in the treatment of cataracts for 25 years.

Scientific activities

Scientific collaboration with Dr. Rafael Franco Fernández, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Barcelona, for the development of the research project “Potential of A2A/A3 adenosine receptors or A2A/A3 microglial heteromers as neuroprotection targets “, belonging to the 2018 call of the State Program for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation (R + D + i) oriented to the Challenges of Society.
Scientific collaboration with Dr. Ana Guzmán Aránguez, full professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the Complutense University of Madrid, for the development of the research project “Effect of melatonin on the NLRP3 inflammasome and exosomes in chronic ocular pathologies”, belonging to the 2017-2020 call of the State R&D&I Program oriented to the Challenges of Society.
Scientific collaboration with Dr. Juan Gonzalo Carracedo Rodríguez, Professor of the Department of Optometry and Vision of the Complutense University of Madrid for the development of the research project “Regulation of melatonin synthesis in the eye: implications in ocular pathologies”, belonging to the 2016 call of the State Program of R+D+i oriented to the Challenges of Society. This collaboration extends to other projects included in the Complutense research group under the title “Pharmacological biochemistry of the eye”.
