Eyelid bags and droopy eyelids<\/h1>\n

Over the years, it is inevitable that the skin around the eyes loses its natural properties and that the eyelid muscles weaken, offering a more aged and tired appearance.<\/p>\n

Eye bags<\/strong> are caused by a collection of displaced fat in the lower eyelid. In the case of droopy eyelids<\/strong> (eyelid ptosis), they are due to excessive drooping of the upper eyelid, so that it partially or completely covers the eye. In addition, they can be accompanied by excess skin. These circumstances cause a visible effect of tiredness or sleepiness in the eyes, sometimes very pronounced, which can be highly annoying for patients. <\/p>\n

This type of aesthetic defects associated with the natural aging of the skin can be corrected by a surgical treatment called blepharoplasty, which improves the patient’s aesthetic appearance, rejuvenating their look.<\/p>\n

This procedure, which lasts approximately one hour in total (both eyes) and is usually performed under local anesthesia, allows you to get rid of aesthetic problems of the upper eyelids, such as drooping eyelids, sagging and excess skin or fat. <\/p>\n

After surgery, a suture is placed on the eyelids, which is removed in the following seven or ten days. There is little discomfort during recovery, although swelling and local bruising may occur in the first few days. To remove this excess fat and tighten redundant skin, lower blepharoplasty<\/strong> is used, which consists of making a small incision below the lash line or, in younger patients, inside the lower eyelid, without any scar being visible later. <\/p>\n

This is an outpatient intervention (lasting approximately one hour) and is performed under local anaesthesia, facilitating the optimal recovery of the patient.
