Today’s ophthalmology needs to rely on technology, but also on the humane treatment of patients. Both aspects are not only essential to advance towards medical excellence, but also express our way of understanding and practicing ophthalmology.
This vision is shared with Juaneda Hospitals, the main private health group in the Balearic Islands, to which Oftalmedic Salvà has been linked as its ophthalmology service for more than 25 years.

ISO 9001:2015 Certification (2017)
In 2017, Oftalmedic Salvà, in Clínica Salvà, achieves the Certification of its Quality Management System, according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard. Thus, it becomes the first and only ophthalmology center in the Balearic Islands to achieve it.
The objective of this international standard that regulates Quality Management Systems (QMS) is to promote continuous improvement in all work processes involved in the operation of the organization. To this end, protocols have been established to reinforce the effectiveness of the company’s own quality systems and a model based on continuous improvement has been implemented and deployed at all levels of the organization.
Obtaining this certification is part of Oftalmedic Salvà’s commitment to the quality of the medical and healthcare service offered to its patients, to their safety and to that of the team of professionals that make it up.

Accredited Innovative Company Qualification for SMEs (2018).
In 2018, the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of the Government of Spain awarded Oftalmedic Salvà the seal of Accredited Innovative Company, in recognition of the efforts made in the field of research, development and technological innovation (R+D+i) throughout its history. Thus, the network of ophthalmological centers becomes part of the 30 SMEs of the Balearic Islands distinguished with this seal.
In parallel to the evolution that ophthalmology has undergone in recent years, Oftalmedic Salvà has opted to implement cutting-edge technologies based on proven scientific evidence that allow us to offer the best response to the challenge of comprehensive treatment of vision and improve patient prognosis through earlier diagnoses and more effective surgical results.

Global Safe Site Excellence Certification: COVID-19 Safe Site (2020)
Through the Global Safe Site Excellence seal, the certifying entity Bureau Veritas has verified the effectiveness of the safety and hygiene protocols of Oftalmedic Salvà, as well as the compliance with the new safety measures. Therefore, this certificate consolidates the ophthalmological center as a space protected against the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus, as it has a safe circuit for both its patients and its health personnel.
Thus, Oftalmedic Salvà consolidates its position as the first ophthalmology center in the Balearic Islands to obtain the Global Safe Site Excellence accreditation, which certifies that it is a safe and protected center against COVID-19, thanks to its prevention and control protocols.
