What is it?
Palpebral tumors
Palpebral tumors are those that appear around the eyelid. They are very frequent, although in most cases they are benign.
If the tumor is malignant, it will be necessary to see a specialist for treatment as soon as possible. This treatment consists of resection of the tumor through surgery, which sometimes involves the removal of an important part of the eyelid.
Eyelid reconstruction: palpebral tumors
Resection and reconstruction with skin flaps and grafts
After resection of palpebral tumors or suspicious lesions in the eyelid area , reconstructive techniques for skin or muscle-cutaneous closure should be applied.
It is performed under local anesthesia or sedation, and the duration varies depending on the size of the tumor, between 40 and 60 minutes approximately.
In the postoperative period, swelling and local hematomas are common, which will disappear with time.
