What is it
Lower eyelid problems
Problems such as fatty packs or excess skin may appear on the lower eyelid that make it difficult to see properly. Eye bags can also cause discomfort such as dryness or eye strain. When this type of situation arises, lower blepharoplasty, the most common technique in oculoplasty, can be used.
Treatment of lower eyelid problems:
Blepharoplasty
Lower blepharoplasty removes excess fat and tightens redundant skin, if any, through a small incision made below the lash line. In the case of younger patients, it is possible to perform it on the inside of the lower eyelid, without any scar being visible later.
This is an outpatient intervention that is performed under local anesthesia, facilitating the optimal recovery of the patient. It can also be performed under sedation, in the case of patients who are very nervous. It lasts approximately one hour, and transient local hematomas may occur during recovery.
