What is low vision?
This service is offered to patients whose visual acuity is below what is necessary to lead a normal life. Despite the progress of ophthalmology in recent years, patients with low vision problems derived from severe pathologies have serious difficulties in carrying out any daily activity such as reading, watching television, going out alone in the street, etc. due to their low visual acuity, and they may even be completely prevented from carrying them out.
When these problems do not achieve improvement through conventional optical correction methods (glasses or contact lenses) or through medical or surgical treatment, there are optical aids complementary to the ophthalmological treatment that the patient is following, which allow the remaining visual capacity to be enhanced. The objective is to report the best quality of life, despite the conditioning of their visual health.
